"This series was born in the anticipation of a flash, with the gentle yet powerful Yulissa,

nine months pregnant with her son Liliak.

I photographed her in Paris, the city she has chosen as home for the past fifteen years,

although her roots trace back to Peru, which she carries in her heart and in the features of her captivating face.

Yulissa blends gracefully into sculptures of deities, nymphs, and other iconic works of art, patient yet alert, waiting for a flash. And in her home, in the intimacy of the final moments of pregnancy, where the world narrows and becomes essential, where she will welcome her son.

Everything is already there, wrapped in a light ready to be born."
