Embodied Memory by Shiori Ota

“This work does not treat femininity as something to be performed or consumed, but as a memory inherited from the past, quietly embedded within the body.
Together with a liberated body, freed from constraints and prescribed roles, it seeks to reconstruct a femininity that has continued across generations, reimagined through a contemporary perspective. Something new, yet somehow old. Refined, yet carrying a certain warmth.
It is a quiet yet powerful exploration of femininity as it exists now, an “ongoing present” shaped by the past.”
